The professionals of the Institute have worked in recent years in the development and creation of a school for parents, in order to guide their educational action. This proposal is addressed to Associations of fathers and mothers, City Councils and other organizations and entities that wish to incorporate it into their program of activities.

Description

The School of fathers and mothers consists of a variable cycle of work sessions, directed to fathers and mothers, of an approximate duration of an hour and a half to two hours each, divided into three parts:

first part: presentation of the topic,
Second part: work in small groups, and
third part: comments, debate and questions.

With this model of work, the School of fathers and mothers aims to go beyond being a simple cycle of conferences, to become a participatory pedagogical activity, in which the starting point is the own experience of the parents and assistants.

The sessions are conducted by leading professionals in psychology, pedagogy and medicine, with proven experience in the field of education and / or health, and can be developed in the classroom of the Institute or in the place that the requesting entity decide

Since the School of parents works as a Permanent Seminar, and therefore its continuity is valued as a success element. It is advisable that the organizing entity is responsible for having interested persons register, if possible, for all sessions. A minimum participation of 14 people and a maximum participation of 30 is recommended.

Depending on the case, support material will be provided throughout the session with basic information on the subject.

Next, a possible program is proposed for each of the age groups that the proposal contemplates. Since it is only a proposal, other topics can be suggested or modified according to the interests of each group of parents.

Commentary

As already mentioned, these are some of the topics that are proposed. Obviously, the school or organizing entity can propose other issues to work on other interests and, if necessary, the Institute for the Study of Sexuality and the Couple will select among its members and / or collaborators those professionals most suitable for Work on each new topic.

If the school, in an initial phase of the work and to attract a greater number of possible fathers and mothers, prefers it, most of the topics can be reconverted into conferences, but with the cost that the group dynamics will be lost.

You can see an updated list of schools in which we have held conferences or activities of School of fathers and mothers in the clients page.
